Aunt Renie loves Chocolate
In diesem Sinne: go, Renie, go!
Some days ago Aunt Renie met the sheep at the ‚Bittersweet‘ chocolaterie in Hildesheim, Germany. The day was real fun! First they helped Paula, the chocolatier, to finish her latest invention: white chocolate with a hint of maple syrup and brittle. After quite a bit of testing and packing the rest in the usual black boxes with new golden-brown paper-wrappers, they were lucky enough that Paula’s coffee-stock was running low and they could actually witness her roasting coffee for the famous „Hildesheimer Mischung“. Oh, the whole little timbered house smelled of freshly roasted coffee! But the best part was, that Aunt Renie managed to get a special chocolate recipe from Paula. So she wrote in her little notebook as follows:
Hot Chocolate on a wooden spoon (6-8 portions)
100 ml cream
200 g couverture
flavour to taste (cinnamon, vanilla, etc.)small cups or forms
wooden spoons
optionally sugar decorLet cream and flavour simmer for 10 minutes. Remove the spices and strain the cream. Melt the couverture in the hot liquide and fill the mixture in the small forms. Stick the wooden spoons in the chocolate and decorate to taste. Let the drinking chocolate cool down.
Aunt Renie and the sheep left Paula and the Bittersweet way after dark, full of chocolate , tired and totally happy. They agreed to do that again, when Aunt Renie comes back to Hildesheim.
The original chocolate recipe can be found here – thanks to Julchen!!!
